Larder Banishes Forgotten Foods

Larder Banishes Forgotten Foods
Larder from the English Classic Range

For those of you fortunate enough to still have a walk in larder, I have to admit I'm a little jealous and I'm apparently I'm not the only one as designer Mark Wilkinson has introduce a larder cupboard into his kitchens.

The larder is designed to suit the requirements of the owner and consists of a variety of wicker boxes, dry goods drawers, can storage and even a marble shelf. Small details such as lining the dry goods drawers with acrylic for easy cleaning, will mean that the larder will remain in tip-top condition for years.

One space saving idea is the narrow shelves, positioned at the front of the larder, which slide along the length of the cupboard. These provide the perfect space for frequently used items that can then be easily moved aside to reveal the deeper larder storage area behind.

The larder's doors also help to increase access to the cupboard by folding back in two, to allow the larder to be revealed completely. This ensures that pantry items bought long ago do not linger, forgotten, at the back of the larder ever again.

Mark Wilkinson furniture is available from showrooms nationwide – a start price for a full Mark Wilkinson kitchen is £30,000. For more information and to see variations of the larder theme other than the one shown here visit www.mwf.com
