This Radio from Roberts may look like something your mother used to listen to Radio 2 in the kitchen on, but underneath that retro look, it's a Digital Radio packed full of the latest DAB technology.
DAB stands for Digital Audio Broadcasting, which in a nutshell means not only a clear signal, but a host of other features such as displaying a radio station's name, the programme you're listening to and sometime even the record your listening to as well. You can find out if you can receive DAB by checking here on the BBC web site Digital Radio.
If you'd like to receive DAB, but the link says coverage isn't available in your area, it's worth seeing if you can borrow a friend's Digital Radio to try it out. Our postcode isn't listed, but with an external DAB ariel we can receive most channels.
This model from Roberts, the Rambler RD76 has an external DAB ariel socket as one of its features. The radio has a solid ash cabinet, a rotary volume control and a favourite station preset button. Available in a selection of different coloured handles and side panels, the Rambler RD76 can be mains operated or battery powered, RRP £100.00.
