Torridge Chariot Bath
A former bedroom in a Georgian townhouse has been converted into a vast en-suite for the master bedroom. Centre stage is Drummonds’ classic bathroom products, inspired by period pieces and traditional manufacturing techniques.
The Torridge Chariot Boat bath is made in cast iron with a dry-frit enamelled interior and hand polished and lacquered exterior. Each Drummonds’ bath is manufactured individually, taking up to four weeks to complete.
Drummonds is the only company in the world to use dry frit vitreous enamel (powdered glass) the way the Victorians did. The result is a hard, durable enamel, with gentle undulations and a snow white finish.
Spittal Shower
Emphasising the space, a cool colour palette forms the perfect backdrop for Drummonds’ magnificent freestanding Spittal shower which the owner of this sumptuous Georgian bathroom describes as a “work of art” in its own right and “far too beautiful to be stuck in a corner”.
Of course, technically in Georgian times, bathrooms as we know them today didn’t really exist. Choosing a Victorian styled suite is about as close as you can come to a period bathroom, if you want a touch of luxury.
