The luxury shopping destination, Burlington Arcade opened the same year that Queen Victoria was born, so it's fitting that Britain's first shopping mall should be supporting this year's must see period extravaganza, The Young Victoria.
Burlington Arcade opened in 1819 to great acclaim and is now recognised as a historic and architectural masterpiece. The longest and most beautiful covered shopping street in Britain, this oasis of calm is one of London’s hidden treasures packed with luxurious accessories. From vintage snuff boxes, dazzling jewels or even the makers of the Victorian Cross, all are available at the Arcade.
On display until the 16th of this month is one of the Victoria's dresses from the film, which tells the story of Queen Victoria’s early rise to power, passionate courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. Visitors will be able to browse through the Arcade and undertake a Victorian trail with many of the Arcade’s retailers showcasing beautiful and interesting pieces from that era.
The Young Victoria's dress can be seen from the Piccadilly entrance in Burlington Arcade. For more information visit www.burlington-arcade.co.uk.
