What's new in Period Home and Garden

A new wood fibre insulation board allows period home and listed building owners to insulate external walls with minimum risk of condensation damage to the existing wall structure.
Launched by Natural Building Technologies, the Pavadentro board includes a mineral-based sodium silica layer, which, together with the woodfibre, regulates the passage of moisture travelling to the external wall and avoids the risk of condensation occurring.
The natural vapour permeability of the woodfibres ensures breath-ability and control of any vapour that naturally occurs in an occupied building, thereby maintaining a healthy living environment.
Unlike many insulation products, the Pavadentro board does not include a ‘traditional’ vapour control barrier, because they actually block moisture and may even trap it inside the building structure, which then causes long-term structural damage to the building.
