What's new in Period Home and Garden

January, 2008Print Article Whenever I happen to travel up North, I nearly always pass a lorry advertising Pilkington self-clean glass on the M1. Until seeing the lorry for the first time I didn't know such a thing existed and now its just got even better.
Pilkington Activ Neutral glass not only cleans itself by reacting with UV rays to breakdown and loosen dirt from the surface, but it also reduces the amount of heat let into a room by reflecting the heat back outside.
According to Pilkington, the glass is so effective that it can prevent around 60% of solar heat from entering a conservatory.
If you already have the self cleaning glass installed we'd love to know your comments here at Period Home and Garden. My husband in particular would welcome any suggestions that meant he didn't have to constantly clear-up after the House Martins that nest directly above two of our windows.
Pilkington Activ Neutral is available now, visit www.pilkington.com/selfcleaningglass for more information.
