Billy from Ikea celebrates its 30th birthday this month and I have to admit I'm a bit of a fan of this iconic (if you like Ikea that is) bookcase.
Over the years Billy has been available in a variety of colours to suit the design of the decade and help keep books tidy. Its clean lines means that it doesn't matter what style of house you have, the bookcase doesn't look out of place.
The appeal of Ikea's bookcase to me has always been its versatility. The system is flexible, so you can make it fit almost anywhere and it doesn't cost a fortune. Perfect if you are just trying to get a bit of space organised in an open area under the stairs or need shelves for books either side of a fireplace.
Billy comes in several heights, widths and finishes to suit all books and interiors. The shelves don’t sag, not even under the weight of heavy books, and with glass doors you minimise the problems of dust.
