September, 2007Print Article For the 1.5m users in the UK that rely on oil for heating and cooking, making sure the oil tank and associated pipework is in good condition should be a priority, but when was the last time you checked yours?
If you're like me, the answer is you probably don't, except to check how much is left. OilAssure is a new initiative introduced by Titan Environmental, a UK manufacture of environmentally safe oil tanks. The scheme gives homeowners practical assistance with the inspection and maintenance of their oil tanks to ensure they fully conform with the law.
Benefits of the scheme include a fee site and oil tank inspection, regular updates on the latest regulations as well as a free telephone advice line. OilAssure has the full support of the Environment Agency and it's free to join before December 2007.
Don't forget if your oil tank is leaking it's not just money that's draining away, it could be harming the environment and you may incur cleanup costs too, so checking now could save money in the long run. OilAssure's current news letter includes some handy tips of what to look for.
After December a £25.00 charge per annum is made to join OilAssure. Site inspections fees are expected to cost around £75.00. For more information visit www.oilassure.com
