Composting Recipes to Rival Jamie

Allan Shepherd from the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) has given composting a Jamie Oliver makeover with a book that contains eight easy to follow recipes for compost.

CAT has pioneered several different ways of making compost over the years, using different ingredients such as cardboard to produce a nutrient-rich soil, which has helped turn CAT’s abandoned slate quarry into productive vegetable-growing organic gardens.

The Little Book of Compost gives gardeners a complete party plan for good composting, showing how to make your guests - soil organisms such as worms – happy. It outlines several recipes that are more appetising than a Boxing Day curry and also looks at different bins, tools and techniques for easy composting.
