Nothing is worse than sitting down to eat in the garden, only to be harassed by a wasp. Looking on the internet there are some interesting ideas for trapping wasps in the garden, but none quite as stylish as the new Organic Wasp Trap from Menu.
Using a simple blend of sugar and vinegar, the trap attracts wasps to such an extent that they completely ignore the family's well-laid garden table. The wasp trap's funnel-shaped hole acts like a fish trap: once the wasp is inside, it cannot get out again. When you are ready to empty the trap, simply remove the funnel, which also acts as a stopper.
In my searches, I did discover that the BBC has some interesting ideas on wasp traps, including hanging a brown paper bag and plying the wasps with vodka and orange. But I don't think they'll have quite the same chic that designer Pernille Vea had in mind when creating the Organic Wasp Trap.
The trap retails at £19.95. For more information visit www.menu.as
