Interior Design for the Home this Winter

Interior Design for the Home this Winter
Capella from Montgomery, prices start at £85

If you're planning on using some of your holiday this month to give your living room a makeover, you might be interested to know what specialist soft furnishings company, Montgomery Interior Fabrics see as the big interior design trends this autumn and winter.

Jo McEwan, Design Director of Montgomery anticipates that the second half of 2007 will be full of glitz and glamour, with the bare minimal look fading and a more luxurious approach to interior design will come shining through.

Metallic fabrics, that make the most of both natural and artificial light will soon be on the interior design scene. Available from September these ready made curtains,  would look very stylish in a 20s or 30s house. Montgomery also suggests that you can take the interior design look a step further by using metal eyelets, which allows the curtain fabric to fall in wide uniform curves.

Good news for those of you with draughty houses is that velvet is making a comeback, but not the old single colour, stuck in the mud look. This time the look is contrast raised, coloured, patterned pile with a plain woven voided background, bringing together pattern, colour and variety of texture to the whole design.

Montgomery's Simply Velvet range shows how velvet has moved on from the traditional 'plains' of old interior decor.

The Jupiter readymade custains start from £75.00 per pair (46"x54") and the Delamere and Saville Stripe are both £34.99 a meter. For more information visit www.montgomery.co.uk.
