Energy Saving Blind from Apollo
With 20% of heat lost from house escaping through windows panes and frames, it is obvious that window insulation is essential to conserve energy and cash. The problem is exasperated by those period home owners who have ancient windows that estate agents love to describe as "original features", but we all know makes it difficult to insulate and the house extremely drafty when the wind is blowing in a particular direction.
Apollo blinds has come up with a budget crunching alternative to double glazing, which isn't always practical for period home owners anyway. The company has just launched the Duette Fixé honeycombe blind, that can cut heat loss by up to 34% during the winter with its insulation properties (on a low emission doubled glazed window with tint and even more on a single pane window) and keep rooms cooler in the summer by reducing heat gain by the same amount.
The patented double-walled honeycombe design of the blind forms an air pocket. Air contained in the honeycomb cells is an effective insulator, keeping heat in during the winter and heat out in the summer. Insulation values are especially high with the blackout range, which incorporates a metallised film for perfect darkening and increased insulation.
Apollo made-to-measure Duette blinds are available in two different ranges – 25mm Blackout and 25mm Duotone, with 14 different colours in each collection. All have a white reverse to provide a uniform look from the outside. Extremely versatile, they can be fitted to any window or door – no matter what shape and size - and are ideal for conservatories and skylight windows.
Prices start at £81.82 for a 400x600mm made-to-measure pre-tensioned Duette Duotone blind. For more information visit www.apollo-blinds.co.uk
