Designer Alison White Gives Parapan shutters a new look
Shutters within period homes have often been changed to reflect the tastes of the time. In the late nineteenth century, a fascination with the orient led to many shutters being painted black, flanked either side by richly coloured curtains. Today, shutters have been given another face-lift by designer Alison White, who has teamed up with Parapan to provide a more contemporary look.
Parapan is a durable, solid acrylic, which is UV stable and will not fade. Available in twenty colours from rich brights to pastels and white, Parapan will not warp, rot or de-laminate. Designer Alison White, who specialises in innovative window treatments, has used Parapan to take a new look at shutters.
Alison’s design uses solid Parapan to frame central panels of translucent Parapan, creating a beautifully linear and architectural look. Bi or tri-fold, the shutters can be used to wholly or partially screen windows, give privacy or (fitted with locks) add to internal security.
Sized and made to order, price for panel measuring 2m x 25cm: £170.00. For more information visit www.alisonwhite.co.uk or www.parapan.co.uk
